About

Neal was born and raised in Westchester, NY. He picked up the guitar for the first time at the age of 7, after being inspired by his older sister taking lessons. It didn't take long for him to become enthusiastic about guitar, and after a year he picked up the bass as well. That is where things really clicked. Neal began learning song after song on bass and guitar. Some of his early inspirations were The Beatles, The White Stripes, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. He also started writing his own songs and developed a love for singing and composing.
Through elementary and middle school, Neal studied with his personal teacher, Mike Desmond, a Berklee College of Music graduate, and attended Lagond School of Music in Elmsford, NY. By the time he got to high school his music education had lead him in the direction of learning Jazz, and he was soon accepted into the Jazz Performance Pre-College Program at Manhattan School of Music. While attending high school and this pre-college program, he started teaching himself music production at home. Whenever Neal had free time, he'd spend it recording and producing his own songs. This would come in handy, as he would go onto to receive scholarship to Berklee College of music for both his instrumental skills and his composition/production skills.

Neal attended Berklee College of Music from 2017 to 2021, and received a major in Contemporary Writing and Production. While at college, he took a variety of instrumental and vocal courses. During his time in Boston, MA he played with many bands around the greater area. It's also around this time that he began teaching his first private students.
After graduating, Neal decided he would continue his musical pursuits in Los Angeles. He moved in the summer of 2021 and hit the ground running. He was quickly asked to be the bassist for multiple groups, and would perform at famous LA venues such as The Troubadour, The Moroccan Lounge, The Viper Room and more.
Neal started teaching his own private students after moving to LA, and got his first professional teaching job. This position was at Roos Music Studios, where he would teach 45+ students of all ages every week. He currently works at Arabesque Conservatory where he specializes in teaching students with disabilities. He teaches Bass, Guitar, Vocals, Drums and Music Production.
Neal knows the importance that learning an instrument holds, not just for an individual, but for entire communities. His goal is never to make a student feel forced to pick up their instrument, but rather inspired and excited to do so. More than ever having a creative outlet is crucial, and Neal hopes to help as many people find that gift as possible.
